AeroPress

AeroPress Go immersion chamber

I am an avid coffee drinker and love experiencing new ways of making coffee from the classic French Press to the old school percolator. I love learning new ways of enjoying my favorite morning beverage and I've heard a lot about the AeroPress so I figured I would give it a go. Throughout my testing of this product, I have been pleasantly surprised!

The AeroPress Go

AeroPress Go

The AeroPress Go is a compact and sturdy coffee maker that is ready to go on exciting adventures and amazing trips with its all-in-one system. When you get the AeroPress Go it comes all packed together in a nice clean kit that includes the manual, filter cap, immersion chamber, filter holder, measuring cup, foldable stir, go cup, plunger, filters, and then the silicon top that keeps it all nice and secure. You get a whole lot in a neat little package and we haven't even talked about how it performs yet!

The Quality

I put it to the test against the most commonly used coffee brewer the drip coffee machine. The quality of the brew that the AeroPress Go made was very crisp, smooth, and full bodied which is just what I like. I love being able to taste the subtle notes in the coffee and I was able to drink it without any creamer which I haven't been able to for a long time. The only con I have for the AreoPress Go is that you only get one serving out of each brew, so get ready to brew a lot if its more than one person. The drip coffee maker was noticeably more bitter, oily, and more bold. Now don't get me wrong I still enjoy my drip coffee maker but I feel like if I have the time to boil water and make a great cup of coffee I'll probably be grabbing my Aeropress!

How to Brew

AeroPress Go stir

The AeroPress Go is simple to use and gives you the ability to make great coffee just about anywhere you can make boiling water! The First step is to take the plunger out of the immersion chamber.

then you add the filter into the filter cap and twist it into the bottom of the immersion chamber so it locks into place.

AeroPress Go coffee grinds

Once you get the filter cap on you pour your coffee (it says in the manual that you should use about 3/4 scoop) into the immersion chamber. Then pour your boiling (shoot for 185F or just boiling if you don't have a kettle with a temp gauge) water into the immersion chamber to the number 3 and stir for about 5-10 seconds. Just a heads up there will be a bit of drip through to the cup, that is normal.

AeroPress Go plunger

Quickly once the stirring is done add the plunger about a half inch into the immersion chamber (On their website it says that this causes a vacuum to stop the drip through), then give it about 60 seconds to steep and then press the plunger down nice and slow with even amount of pressure (don't use too much pressure) until you hear a hissing sound which tells you got all the liquid out.

Then the last step is to drink and enjoy! If you want to know more about how to brew with the AeroPress Go you can check the manual or go to their website by clicking here!

Cleaning

The AeroPress Go is super simple to clean and even the coffee grounds which is amazing because that is normally the messiest part of brewing for me. To clean the grinds once you are done brewing coffee you just keep the Aeropress upside down, take off the filter cap, point it toward the trash can, push the plunger all the way through to pop the coffee puck out, and then I take a wet paper towel and wipe it down and your good to go. Just wash the rest of it off with some warm water and then place it on the top rack of the dishwasher!

Dont Be Afraid To Tinker

I've always tinkered and changed how I brew my coffee because what might work for some may not be the best for you! I for one love a stronger brew so I may let it steep for a while longer, change the grind up, or even change the temperature of the water and see how that works. There are so many things you can change and try because the goal here is to make the best cup of coffee for you! I do recommend you write it down as you are experimenting that way you can always go back and see what worked and what didn't.

Final Thoughts

AeroPress Go plunger and immersion chamber

I have always loved experimenting with my coffee and learning new ways to brew it. The AeroPress Go has so many things going for it from its compactness to its brew quality, as well as the easy maintenance all come together and make a unique and amazing package. If you can get over the single server portions which is the only issue I had with the AeroPress Go then you will be able to make great coffee camping, traveling, or at home wherever you may be!
